New Jack/Audrey Story Up

Sorry so long since my last update. I had a crazy weekend and I am nearing the end of the semester, so I don’t have as much time for fanfic writing, but I managed to get out a little Jack/Audrey ficlet that takes place during the last three minutes of the 12 AM episode, while Heller is at the retreat trying to get the president to resign before Henderson calls. I also plan on publishing the first part of a post-s5 Jack/Audrey story and possibly updating “Sleeping With The Enemy” and my Season 6 opener soon, so stay tuned.

More Updates Soon

Sorry no updates for a few days. I’ve been pretty busy with school and I was home for my cousin’s Bar Mitzvah, but I hope to update Sleeping With The Enemy and possibly add a new story ASAP.

E-Mail Updates Now Available (Almost)

Several people had asked to be notified when I update a story or publish a new story. So I am currently testing a new plugin that will enable people to get notified when I post an update, by subscribing to the updates category. If this works, I am going to use it for people who have already asked for updates either here, at my old site, or on fanfiction.net. If you would like to get updates, please post a comment and let me know (I’ll have a form soon). If you asked for updates before but don’t want them, just reply to one of the e-mails and let me know and I will stop bothering you. This probably goes without saying, but the only thing I’m using anyone’s e-mail address for is to send updates if they request it. I don’t have enough subscribers to be worth selling their information :-D

What was Heller Thinking?

I posted this over as a comment over at Giver Donkey, but I figured it warranted a post on my own blog, which I have decided to use for 24 Rants and Musings as well as fan fiction. So this is the first such rant:

I don’t disagree with Heller’s reasoning, and I think trying to get Logan to step down quietly was the right move. But Heller is an idiot for not bringing the tape with him to the retreat, and WHAT THE HELL WAS HE THINKING leaving Audrey tied up at the airport? She’s one of only a few people who knew the truth about Logan, and she’s already been framed for a terrorist conspiracy in order to get at Jack…how the hell did he not realize that she would be in danger if he left her there? I talked to my dad about it, and he said if it were me he would never have let me out of his site at that point…he would have insisted that I come with him to the retreat. It seemed really out of character for him, given how concerned he was about her safety last season.

First Segment of My Season 6 Premiere Now Up

I just posted the first segment, which can be found here.

Please note that I have not yet seen the 12 AM episode of season 5, as I am waiting until my brother comes to visit tomorrow so we can watch together. So this is probably completely AU now, but I figured I’d finish and post this part now, because for all I know Audrey could be dead and I probably won’t have the heart to keep writing if she is. Feel free to let me know what you think, and if your comments contain spoilers for the 12 AM episode just give a heads up so I can wait until tomorrow to read them.

My Season 6 Premiere - Coming Soon

Filed under: Updates — agentrez @ 8:24 pm

Reviews

So I’m busy working on a season 6 opener plot instead of the paper I’m supposed to be writing. I will have the first part soon, but here is some background to get you started:

This takes place about 5 years after season 5 and it’s based off my own season 5 finale, “A Life Worth Living,” so it’s slightly AU but mostly still works (although by the time I publish this that may be different.)

A few things to note:

  1. As some of you may recall from the end of “A Life Worth Living,” Tony Almeida died a hero at the end when he took Jack’s place on a suicidal mission to destroy the nerve gas. The Tony in this story is Jack and Audrey’s 4-and-a-half year old son.
  2. In the epilogue to “A Life Worth Living,” Audrey mentioned that a good friend of her father’s, then-Senator Robert Peterson, was challenging Vice President Gardner for the Republican nomination for president, and that she and Jack were going up to New Hampshire so she could help with his campaign. Peterson is now president, with one year left in his first term of office.
  3. As Jack predicted five years earlier, Audrey got her wish to become the first female Secretary of Defense in US history. She had been Acting Secretary for two months following the sudden and unexpected death of Secretary of Defense William Korman, who had designated Audrey as his predecessor when she was his Undersecretary for Policy and close confidante. She was confirmed to the post in her own right yesterday, following a fairly contentious Senate debate. The main objection to her was the fact that she never served in the uniformed military, which her supporters felt was a code phrase questioning her qualifications because of her gender. Jack’s extralegal activities at CTU and her own role in the events of day 5 were also examined. The Senate confirmation process has received a lot of attention from the news media in recent weeks.
  4. The director of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) resigned in protest when Audrey became Acting Secretary of Defense and was nominated by the president to replace Korman. Following Audrey’s recommendation, Peterson tapped Bill Buchanan to replace him. Bill hired Chloe O’Brien to serve as the Chief Information Officer for DIA.
  5. Jack has been laying low for the last few years, taking care of Tony and working hard to be the husband and father that his job at CTU prevented him from being the first time around. But he is starting to get restless, and the recent media spectacle has made him start to feel inadequate, making him more aware of the stigma that goes with being a stay-at-home dad. He and Audrey agreed that he would start looking for a job now that Tony’s in preschool, and he is going in to DIA later today to meet with Bill about a possible opening in the Counterintelligence Division. Or at least, that’s what he told Audrey.
  6. Kim Bauer, now 29 and still estranged from her father, is a second year law student at UCLA. She just got back from a 5-week comparative justice summer program in Europe, and stopped off in DC for a night to visit a friend on her way back. She is flying back to L.A. at 7:30 this morning.
  7. Curtis Manning is now the Director of CTU Los Angeles. He is flying to DC for a nationwide conference of CTU directors. His flight is expected to arrive at 5:37 this morning.
  8. The circumstances regarding Secretary Korman’s death are still being investigated.

Dr. Blogenstein: If Jack Bauer Led the Jews Out of the Desert

I just found this and it’s hysterical! All the reasons why it would have only taken 24 hours instead of 40 days and 40 nights for the Jews to get out of Egypt if Jack Bauer had been leading them instead of Moses. If that happened, would we only have to give up bread for one day instead of 8 then? That would be nice!

New Segment of “Sleeping With the Enemy”

Thanks to the overwhelming response to this story, I have decided to continue it. I added another scene and will be adding more soon. If you get a chance please use the comments to let me know what you think of it.

You can view the new scene here.

NOTE TO OVERSEAS VIEWERS: The first four chapters of this stories contain spoilers through 8 PM of season 5. The latest part incorporates plots from as late as the 10 PM episode, so I would recommend waiting until you have seen that to read any more after the 4th segment.

Welcome

Welcome to my new fanfic site. Thank you to everyone who supported me when my fanfics were deleted from fanfiction.net…I really appreciate you sticking with me and my stories.

I just got this new site with the domain name and the blog today, so it may be a little while before everything is in place.

My other stories will be here soon…working on reformatting them for this site.

I would really appreciate feedback on my stories. There is a comment form at the bottom of each story/chapter that can be used for that purpose.

As I mentioned above, all of my stories, and the reviews that went with them, were deleted from fanfiction.net. My family really likes to see what people are saying about my stories, and I wanted a place to rebuild the reviews page from fanfiction.net, so I am in the process of copying some of the reviews I got there (thankfully they are still in my e-mail box) into the comments section here. That way, you can see if you already reviewed, plus it’s a free link to your profile page there and thus to your stories. I did not put anyone’s e-mail address in the comments, only a link to your ff.net or message board profile. If anyone does not want feedback they left for me somewhere else to be posted here, please let me know and I will remove it.
