New 24 Fanfic: “Give Me One Reason”

When Tony promised Jack that he would turn himself in after the crisis was over, he had every intention of keeping his word. But now that he’s actually faced with the prospect of going back to prison, will he have the courage to make good on his promise, or will he look for a way out? That’s the premise of my new story, which place at the end of Day 7, after Jack & co. have saved the world. The final threat and how they handle it and what happens afterwards are pure speculation and not based on any spoilers, though I have a way of predicting things in my fanfics (case in point: my DC-based fanfic that I wrote 4 years ago that had Tony accused of involvement in a plot to hijack the air traffic controls). In spite of my penchant for predicting the events of the show, I don’t know anything about the season finale, and this should be safe for anyone who has seen 7×13 to read.

I know I’ve had a lot of new stories lately, and some of you are probably tired of me starting new stories instead of updating “Pretty Bad Things”. An update for that is coming soon, but I had this idea and I couldn’t resist. This is the first of probably two parts, and it’s pretty short, but hopefully the second part will be up either today or tomorrow.

Yet another one-shot inspired by the final exchange between Jack and Tony in 7×10 on the steps near the Capitol. This one is different from “I Need Your Help”, even though they were inspired by the same scene. This story, tentatively titled “What the Hell Happened to You?” addresses Jack’s thoughts during his little moment of contemplation, before Tony came along and ruined his rare moment of peace. It’s a little bit of a Jack/Audrey story, but mostly just an attempt to address Jack’s state of mind in Day 7: his emotions or lack their of, the combination of resentment and sympathy he has shown towards Tony, and whether he is still able to feel anything anymore. This story also includes a flashback that shows how Jack convinced President Palmer to pardon Tony and how that plays into Jack’s current emotions.

I’m still working on “Pretty Bad Things”, but Monday’s episode inspired me to do a semi-related story called “I Need Your Help”. As you might have guessed from the title, this story is an extended version of the penultimate scene in 7×10 by the Washington Monument (hopefully that doesn’t give too much away for those who have not seen the episode). Jack is tired of sacrificing for a government that shuns him, but an old friend and his sense of duty may compel him into action yet again.

I know it’s been a while, but I was pretty busy with the election and I thought I had actually kicked my 24 addiction during the year and a half the show was off the air. But now the start of season 7 has helped me get my muse back (and unfortunately revived my addiction!), so here’s a new fanfic that attempts to tell the back story of what Tony’s been up to since we thought he died in season 5. Those of you who have seen the first four episodes should know what I’m talking about, and the title of the story should be a pretty good clue. If you don’t know what I’m talking about because you haven’t seen the first 4 episodes of season 7, DO NOT read the story because it will ruin some great scenes for you. For that reason, I won’t even say which character this mostly revolves around, but for those who have seen season 7 so far it should be obvious.

I know it’s been almost a year since I updated this site, but I finally have a new story, if anyone is still reading this site. It’s called “Shred of Hope“, and it’s for all of my fellow Jack/Audrey fans. Please don’t read it if you have not seen the Season 6 finale…I do not want to spoil anything. Sorry it’s been so long. I have a new story up. It’s a new day 6, completely separate from my other season 6, which I started before season 5 ended. Sorry to confuse everyone, but I had this idea and couldn’t resist. I just put the prequel up yesterday, and the first segment should be up soon. From this point forward, the new story will be referred to as “Day 6″ and the old one will be referred to as “Season 6″, if that helps ease the confusion for anyone. Enjoy and please review. WARNING: SPOILERS FOR ALL OF SEASON 5 in the new story.

I have a new story, “More Comfortable in Hell“, which was inspired by “No Greater Love” by Joe’s Girl at fanfiction.net. Her story involves three different ways Jack and Audrey’s relationship could have turned out after season 5 (written before the finale aired), and the second ending (chapter 4) inspired me to write this (with permission from the author) as a continuation to that ending. So in order for this to make any sense, you must read “No Greater Love” first, especially chapter 4, which was designed to show why things may not have worked out between Jack and Audrey even if they had been able to be together at the end of season 5. Chapters 1, 2, and 4 of that story all precede this…chapter 3 is great and you should read that too but that has nothing to do with this story since it’s an alternate ending. This story takes place a few hours after chapter 4 of “No Greater Love” ended.

I don’t know why but I’ve been going through a phase lately…usually I like to write a variety of stuff but I just keep getting new ideas for Jack/Audrey stories and there aren’t that many out there (why are there so many more stories about Jack and Chloe, when the show has never even hinted at a serious possibility of them becoming a couple? Grrr! No offense to Jack/Chloe fans…I just find it a little odd that there are so many Jack/Chloe fanfics). Anyways, the new story is called “Something to Hold Onto” and you can read the first chapter here. It takes place after season 5 and is probably already AU (I haven’t seen 2 AM yet …hopefully tomorrow…long story) but I hope you enjoy, and if you get a chance please review.

Sorry so long since my last update. I had a crazy weekend and I am nearing the end of the semester, so I don’t have as much time for fanfic writing, but I managed to get out a little Jack/Audrey ficlet that takes place during the last three minutes of the 12 AM episode, while Heller is at the retreat trying to get the president to resign before Henderson calls. I also plan on publishing the first part of a post-s5 Jack/Audrey story and possibly updating “Sleeping With The Enemy” and my Season 6 opener soon, so stay tuned.

So this is probably completely AU now, but I figured I’d finish and post this part now, because for all I know Audrey could be dead and I probably won’t have the heart to keep writing if she is.
